From an open-air library to colourful sculptural pieces by Yomuto Design Atelier, this summer the Village transforms into a real art gallery and invites you to a shopping spree inspired by the contemporary art scene.

Book benches: Les Livres à 2 Places

From 1 June to 26 August, La Vallée Village is an outdoor library. On the programme: a cultural walk to rediscover the greatest literary opuses, transformed into illustrated benches.

La Vallée Village found inspiration in the belles-lettres for a playful and rich exhibition organised in partnership with the association Lire et Faire Lire, chaired by the writer Alexandre Jardin. From the classics of Jules Verne to Arthur Rimbaud and Gustave Flaubert, we invite you into the heart of the most beautiful novels. Around 20 benches in the form of open books will be installed in the Village to honor French literature. The benches will then be auctioned for Lire et Faire Lire.

A literary quiz will accompany the exhibition. If you get all the answers right, you will get the chance to win a €500 La Vallée Village Gift Card in a prize draw on 31 August.

Yomuto in collaboration with The Bicester Village Shopping Collection

Throughout the summer, a selection of the boutique windows in the Village will feature colourful sculptural pieces by Yomuto Design Atelier, a studio established by artist Xavi Muñoz and designer Federico Tosco in Barcelona. Using second-hand objects to create original works of art, Yomuto transforms ordinary objects into new and extraordinary pieces.

Watch the video to see Xavi and Federico discuss their work and their collaboration with The Bicester Village Shopping Collection.

The work on display in the Village takes inspiration from Yomuto’s series of glass trophies, in which everyday objects such as glassware are selected and reassembled into sculptural totems. Five key motifs from this series have been exclusively developed under Xavi’s and Federico’s watchful eyes into colourful shapes, which can be assembled in different and playful ways.

The collaboration with Yomuto is another example of the ongoing commitment of The Bicester Village Shopping Collection to support emerging and established fashion, art and design talent, which serves to nurture and celebrate creativity, offering its guests from all over the world access to cultural activities and events.
